Civil Servants Chided Over Laziness

Bulawayo Provincial Affairs Minister of State, Judith Ncube, has castigated slothful civil servants whose conduct tarnish the government’s image in the eyes of citizens.

Ncube was speaking during the Water, Sanitation, Energy and Industry Conference held at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo were she urged lazy public officials to go elsewhere. She said:

I observe that we desperately need committed and dedicated personnel. We receive lots of requests and complaints from the people about service delivery. Citizens start pointing fingers and blaming Government.

Ncube also took a swipe at Bulawayo City Council for threatening to cut off water supplies for nonpayment of tariffs while it is failing on service delivery.

She urged public officials to self-introspect and change from the traditional ways of doing things.
