Mvurwi Man Beats Up Chinese Employee

A Mvurwi man was arraigned before a magistrate after he assaulted his Chinese employee due to non-payment of wages amounting to $2 000.

Tinei Chilembwe (21), of Impinge 2 Mine, Mvurwi, pleaded guilty to assault charges when he appeared before Guruve magistrate Artwell Sanyatwe on Tuesday.

Chilembwe was fined $100 on his own plea of guilty to the charges.

The court was told that on 24 September this year, Chilembwe stormed his employer, Li Rui Hebei’s office and used catapult, bolt and nuts to attack the Chinese national following a misunderstanding.

The victim was rushed to Mvurwi District Hospital, where he was treated and discharged.
