Command Agriculture Debts Won't Be Written Off - Treasury

Treasury has revealed that it will not write off command agriculture debts. This was revealed in a statement from treasury which stated that people who benefited from command agriculture in the past 2 seasons are supposed to pay back the debt in full.

The statement from the Ministry of Finance read in part:

Government has not written off any debts to farmers and does not intend to do so. All farmers are expected to honour their obligations under the programme in full, even after the programme has been wound up

Command Agriculture received $3 Billion from treasury since 2017 but has very little to show for it as the country is facing one of the worst famines since a 2008 and is supposed to import 800k tonnes of maize to feed the nation.
