A statement by the World Bank has applauded efforts by the City Of Harare and the current administration to lure investors by shortening some license application procedures and making it possible for the process to be available online among other things.
The statement reads:
Zimbabwe made regulatory improvements in five areas measured by Doing Business. Zimbabwe made starting a business easier by improving online name search and reducing the Harare Municipality business licensing fee.
More frequent sessions by the municipal building commission in Harare led to faster approval of construction permits. Likewise, the deeds registry implemented an internal tracking system allowing applicants to track their applications throughout the property transfer process
President Mnangagwa since his inauguration in 2017 has been singing the same song that Zimbabwe is open for business. Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube in a tweet revealed that Zimbabwe is one of the top 20 reformers in doing business this year.
