Zhuwawo: ED Knew Mugabe Did Not Want A Heroes Acre Burial Before He Died {Full Text}

Nephew to the late former Zimbabwe President, Patrick Zhuwawo says President Mnangagwa knew before the death of his uncle, Robert Mugabe, that he did not want to be buried at the National Heroes Acre.

Writing on his website patrickzhuwao.com, Zhuwawo revealed that Mnangagwa was made aware of Mugabe’s wishes in early August. Below is the full statement by Zhuwawo:

Mnangagwa knew well before President Robert Mugabe died that President Mugabe did not want to be buried at Heroes Acre. Mnangagwa became aware of President Mugabe’s wishes on where President Mugabe said he wanted his mortal remains to be interred after having dispatched a delegation to verify whether President Mugabe was genuinely ill early in August 2019.

Upon hearing of President Mugabe’s passing on 6th September 2019, Mnangagwa duplicitously set into motion elaborate plans to coerce and intimidate the Mugabe family into forcing a burial for President Mugabe prior to his planned trip to the United Nations General Assembly.

Mnangagwa dispatched Ziyambi Ziyambi and Philip Chiyangwa to manipulate the chiefs in Zvimba into going along with his plans for President Mugabe’s burial at Heroes Acre on Mnangagwa’s birthday, 15th September 2019.

Mnangagwa summoned Zvimba chiefs to his office to develop a programme that excluded President Mugabe’s Blue Roof residence and involved President Mugabe’s casket going to One Commando Barracks, Zvimba, Rufaro Stadium, National Sports Stadium, and Heroes Acre.

Mohadi was tasked to instruct President Mugabe’s widow to report to State House upon her arrival so that she would be told of the programme that had been developed without her input.

The fact that the programme was developed without consulting President Mugabe’s widow and children prompted the immediate family to issue a statement registering their concerns https://patrickzhuwao.com/statement-by-the-mugabe-immediate-family/.

Aware of Mnangagwa’s shenanigans and attempted manipulation, the Mugabe family and its extended Karigamombe clan resolved to put into motion plans that would ensure that President Mugabe’s wishes on his burial would be respected and honoured.

After the final resting place for President Mugabe had been constructed and prepared, the Mugabe family requested the undertakers to come to Blue Roof at 1 pm on Thursday 26th September 2019 to transport President Mugabe’s remains to Zvimba for final burial.

Upon hearing this, Ziyambi Ziyambi had the Blue Roof residence blockaded for four hours. Realising the futility of the blockade, the Mnangagwa relented and government issued a statement grudgingly accepting to respect and honour President Mugabe’s wishes not be buried at Heroes acre
