Grace Mugabe Evicts Zvimba Chiefs From Blue Roof Mansion

Former First Lady and widow of Zimbabwe’s founding leader, Robert Mugabe has reportedly evicted Zvimba traditional leaders from the Blue Roof mansion where the Mugabe family resides.

Reports suggest that the development came after a meeting held on Thursday night last week between the traditional leaders, Grace’s sisters and President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

An unnamed government source told the News Day that the standoff between Grace and the chiefs was created by the traditional leaders’ role in deciding where Mugabe should be buried. The source said:

What I know is that it’s the Zvimba chiefs who marked that grave (mausoleum) and Grace has not even set her foot there, so clearly that feud is not a lie. The people who have been taking the lead are Zvimba chiefs and they have not been at Blue Roof since weekend.

If she can’t allow them to keep the body and preferring to stay at home with her dead husband, what makes you think she will let them bury him at the National Heroes Acre where the army and his enemies in government have access?

Mugabe family’s spokesperson, Leo Mugabe, however, confessed ignorance on the development saying that he was now at his farm. He said that all other people could have also returned to their homes as they wait for the mausoleum to be completed.
