Doctors at the country’s public hospitals have vowed to continue striking until the acting president of the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association (ZHDA), Dr Peter Magombeyi returns safe and doctors are paid well.
This was said by ZHDA secretary-general Mthabisi Anele Bhebhe. He said doctors will meet every day to march and protest by day and pray in the evening. Said Bhebhe:
Every day. We meet. By day we march and protest to seek the attention of those in offices of Power. Evening we pray that he returns alive and safe
Resuming work will only occur after Dr Magombeyi returns and doctors are paid well.
Dr Magombeyi was abducted from his Budiriro home in Harare on Saturday night by unknown assailants. He has not been seen since.
