The Sables, on Saturday, won the rugby Victoria Cup with a 41-5 defeat on Zambia in Lusaka. In a 4 nation tournament that was revived this year after African Championships were cancelled, the Zimbabwean team retained the title they won 8 years ago against Kenya’s Simbas.
Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda and Zambia are part of the 4 nation tournament participating in the Victoria Cup 2019. Zimbabwe has 5 straight wins, Kenya has 2 defeats, Uganda has 3 defeats and 3 wins and Zambia, a first-timer has 6 straight defeats. A game to be played this coming weekend against Kenya will seal the already imminent victory for the sables. Zimbabwe will go into the game with unassailable lead as Kenya the hosts already has 2 defeats.
