FULL TEXT: "Reign In Your Agents," ECOCASH Given 48 Hour Ultimatum

The National Business Council of Zimbabwe has given Ecocash a 48-hour ultimatum to take action against its Agents who are charging outrageous charges for customers collecting money (Cash out) from the mobile money transfer platform. NBCZ claims that some Agents are charging as high as 60% for cashout. The charges are outside the system and Agents have been arguing that the charges are a measure to recover costs incurred when purchasing cash. Below is the letter addressed to Ecocash Chief Executive Officer, Natalie Jabangwe. It was also copied to the Office of the President and Cabinet and to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
