Caps United FC players returned to training on Saturday morning at the Standard Chartered Sports Club in Harare following a meeting with the club’s directors, Farai Jere and Nhamo Tutisani.
The Green Machine players boycotted training on Friday, demanding an increment to their allowances in light of the escalating cost of living.
The club directors reportedly gave players an offer that exceeded their expectations. A senior player who spoke to Sport Brief said:
We are back at training and its business as usual. We are grateful to the management and our sponsors NetOne Cellular for addressing our financial issues. It is now upon us to deliver positive results in the field of play.
The club confirmed through its Twitter handle that players were back on the training field. The club tweeted:
Preparations for the Harare City match continues and the boys are optimistic of a positive result come Wednesday. We currently have no injury scares in the camp and the morale is at a peak. Training continues tomorrow morning.
