“I'll Strive To Do Much Better," Hadebe Speaks After Huge Blunder

Turkey-based Warriors defender, Teenage Hadebe, has said that he will try to avoid mistakes in matches to come after his mistake gave opponents a goal on Tuesday.

Zimbabwe was leading Somalia by 1 goal to nil in a 2022 Qatar World Cup Qualifier preliminary round at the National Sports Stadium when Hadebe made the costly blunder.

After Somalia equalised, Zimbabwe had to score two more goals within six minutes since Somalia had scored an away goal plus had won the first leg encounter.

Speaking to the Herald after the match ended 3-1 in favour of the Warriors, Hadebe said:

It is part of the game, but it can’t always be like that.

I made a mistake after some communication breakdown involving me and captain (Alec Mudimu), but it’s part and parcel of the game.

I will strive to do much better in the next assignments.

Zimbabwe got goals from Marshall Munetsi (77′), Knox Mutizwa (86′) and the winner from Khama Billiat (90+2′).

The Warriors qualified to the group stages of the tournament.
