CIO Sues Aircraft Company To Recover Over US$40 000 Debt

The Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) and the District Development Fund (DDF) have approached the courts in a bid to recover over US$40 000 from a local aircraft company.

According to the summons, Central Air Transport Services (CATS) is alleged to have failed to pay US$40 827.59 and $6 000 for aircraft it hired from the President’s Office. The summons read in part:

On or about late December 2018 or early January 2019, Owen Ncube and the District Development Fund (plaintiffs) and CATS entered into a contract of hire through which the plaintiffs provided their Falcon Aircraft to the defendant for its commercial use at agreed hiring fees of US$40 824.59 and $6 000 which amounts accrued on defendant’s accounts.

The plaintiffs claimed, in the summons, that they had been magnanimous with the defendant but has still failed to pay the stated amounts. This has put the plaintiffs out of pocket.
