Protesters from various hostels in Eastern Johannesburg are said to have thronged to Julius Street carrying weapons, demanding that foreign nationals return where they came from. The march comes after protesters last week burnt to ashes several trucks and shops belonging or run to foreign nationals residing in South Africa. The violent attacks which are targeted at foreign nationals have been castigated across Africa and beyond.
