Warriors Lose To World’s 3rd-Worst Ranked Somalia In A World Cup Qualifier Match

The Warriors of Zimbabwe lost 1-0 to Somalia in a 2022 World Cup qualifier preliminary match played on Thursday in Djibouti.

The result is not good for Zimbabwe considering that Somalia is the world’s third-worst ranked team.

Somalia scored the only goal of the match in the 86th minute, moments after Zimbabwe’s Knox Mutizwa wasted a 1v1 opportunity.
The Warriors who had only one day of training dominated the game but failed to capitalise on it.
Elvis Chipezeze, popularly known for gifting goals to the DRC team at the 2019 Total AFCON Cup Finals match in Egypt, had great saves as he denied Somalia on the hour.
