Relations With The US Best In 20 Years - ED

In an interview with Bloomberg TV at the World Economic Forum in Capetown, President Mnangagwa said relations between Zimbabwe and the US are at their best since 2 decades ago when sanctions were imposed on Zimbabwe by the West.

The president was qouted saying:

We have rejoined the family of nations, I am happy that dialog with the Trump administration is ongoing. I am happy with the progress we are so far making, which has never happened in the last 20 years.

We are moving at the pace of what is possible. We know where we want to go. We are beginning from the bottom of the trough. I am in charge of my country, and I must look at what is necessary to resurrect and to grow my economy

The president said these remarks barely 20 days after protests were violently thwarted by the police in front of the whole world.
