Heavy Police Presence At South African Embassy’s Harare Office This Afternoon

263 Chat reports that riot clad police officers were spotted in Belgravia this afternoon after Twimbos made public plans to go and demonstrate at the Embassy. The demo was reportedly against the South African Government’s tepid response to the xenophobic attacks against foreigners that have ravaged parts of the neighbouring country.

Demonstrators were forced to abandon the cause as riot police patrolled the area. THis is coming at a time when the government has of late prohibited demonstrations of any other cause except Zanu PF solidarity March that has since been postponed.

  1. Xenophobia attacks demonstration is more important than demonstration for targeted sanctions. In Zimbabwe people are not independent like other African countries.
