Banning Or Boycotting Mafikizolo Is Fuelling The Culture of Intolerance - Promoter

Music promoters have spoken with one voice against boycotting and banning Mafikizolo concert slated for Friday after social media messages insist that the “back in town concert” be boycotted in solidarity with Xenophobic attack victims in South Africa. Promoters who spoke to the Daily News had this to say about the call to boycott the sensational duo’s concert.

This is a sad moment and every right thinking person will not support violence against another brother or sister. We are one people only separated by borders. We are going ahead as planned and take the opportunity to promote unity

Banning or boycotting Mafikizolo is fuelling the culture of intolerance. Our local musicians travel to South Africa on a weekly basis. Some actually stay there so it will not help us in any way. We condemn the killing of black people by other black people. We will use this Mafikizolo event to put across our message; no to violence, no to xenophobia. Both Mafikizolo and local musicians will unite in fighting this scourge

Yesterday Zimbabweans initiated  #MuteMafikizolo over violent Xenophobic attacks happening in South Africa. The concern hangs in the balance as things are not so clear if people will attend or heed to the call to boycott the concert. However, the promoter for the event said the event is still on.
