The Newsday reports that Zimbos in neighbouring South Africa are planning to embarrass The President this week on Wednesday to Friday as he will be attending the World Economic Forum event in the Mother City. This comes at a time when ED’s government back home has prohibited protesting in Zimbabwe calling it anarchy among other reasons.
SA based Zimbos have reportedly started circulating messages mobilising each other to demonstrate against ED and show the world that all is not well back home.
Some of the messages circulating on social media reads:
All Zimbabweans in South Africa, let’s stand together with one voice and raise our hands in Cape Town on Wednesday to Friday, September 4 to 6, 2019 while marching in Cape Town where ED Mnangagwa will be attending a meeting of the World Economic Forum.
Do not be left behind, follow others in Cape Town. ED must know what the people of Zimbabwe are crying about. It is enough. We need a government which looks after its people.
NewsDay contacted a political analyst based in South Africa who collaborated the social media messages:
It is true, people are mobilising each other to demonstrate in Cape Town where there will be an economic forum and it is their right to demonstrate
