Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Ziyambi Ziyambi has dismissed as “bar talk” allegations that the government was sanctioning abduction and torture of citizens.
Responding to opposition MDC and Midlands Senator, Morgen Komichi, who had asked for the government policy on forced abductions of people at night, Ziyambi said:
That is a false statement and you cannot expect a minister to come before Parliament to talk lies. No one has ever been fingered for these abductions and there is no one ever sent by government to abduct people. Government has no policy to fight people that voted for Zanu PF.
What we have noted is that there are people who no longer have ideas and they want to change this regime and are going outside saying government is abducting people. If you have evidence, then bring it forward. You should not bring bar talk here.
Queried further on whether those alleged to be lying on abductions had been arrested, Ziyambi said that the purported abductees had not reported their matters to the police.
Ziyambi reportedly failed to convincingly reveal whether the government was going to take action against gun-wielding abductors.
The Parliament session followed a spate of abductions of opposition MDC members, human rights defenders and government critics.
Unknown abductors would torture their victims before leaving them for the dead.

Ziyambi is a mad man. He denies everything. Time of Mugabe he was like that. Citizens are dying everyday but you are saying no one reported. Where do you want them to report because these abductions are done by you and the youth and police. So there is nowhere to go.
Ziyambi’s response reflects the environment he commented from “in the Bar” so he will be drunk given his facial expressions.
