"Govt Would Continuously Look Into The Welfare Of Its Workers", Labor Minister

Labor Minister, Dr Sekai Nzenzahas said that the government was committed to ensuring better living standards for its workers.

She said that so far, the government had put in place a number of measures meant to cushion workers from the bumps of life caused mainly by the economic crisis.

Her remarks come a few days after workers through their representatives have accepted the government’s 76% salary increase offer.

Dr Nzenza also revealed that in addition to salary increments, the government had unveiled 25 more buses to the Public Service Commission and had paid off the PSAMAS legacy debt at health service providers so that workers who were now being rejected could be assisted again.

Meanwhile, workers have expressed discontent with the cushions the government has offered so far. They also said that it is of much vitality to review salaries up on a continuous basis considering that the inflation is always on the rise.
