MDC Lawyers Urged Not To Represent 'Corrupt' ZANU PF Officials

The ruling party has condemned MDC officials who are practising lawyers for providing legal representation to ZANU PF bigwigs who are facing corruption charges.

Zanu PF political commissar, Victor Matemadanda, who is also the Deputy Defence Minister and Gokwe Central MP accused the MDC MPs of being lovers of filthy lucre. He said:

At the moment, every person who is accused of being corrupt in Zanu PF is being represented by an MDC lawyer, not your ordinary lawyers, some who are MPs and one wonders what moral ground they have when they talk about corruption. Are they fighting corruption or they just fight for money?

They are condemning corruption just like Zanu PF is spearheading that so why don’t we unite in this one to correct this because we know that they will use technicalities to free the corrupt elements as they are very good lawyers who know how to free someone on a technicality.

Matemadanda’s remarks come as the party’s vice national chairperson Job Sikhala is representing Walter Mzembi, vice presidents Welshman Ncube is representing former VP Phelekezela Mphoko, while Tendai Biti at one point represented former Reserve Bank governor Gideon Gono.
