Former South Africa President, Jacob Zuma, has in an old video below said that demonstrations were a fundamental pillar of democracy. He also said that democratic societies allow freedom of expression. Spokesperson to the president of MDC leader, advocate Nelson Chamisa, believes the virtues of democracy highlighted by Zuma reveal that president Emmerson Mnangagwa was a direct opposite to a democrat.
