PICTURES: SA Army Engineers Repairing Bridges In Chimanimani

Engineers from the South African National Defence Forces deployed in Chimanimani were engaged in the demolition of the old parts of a bridge in Manicaland over the past weekend.

Several bridges were swept away by raging flash floods induced by Tropical Cyclone Idai earlier this year. In a statement, SANDF said:

SA Army Engineers in Zimbabwe dedicated the past weekend demolishing the old parts of the bridge using PE 77 explosives to clear the path where the gabions will be placed.

The first bailey bridge that was washed away by the Cyclone Idai is being re-established.
