Transport Minister Refuses To Meet CAAZ Workers Who Declared Incapacity

Transport Minister, Joel Biggie Matiza, is reportedly refusing to meet with Civil Aviation Authority (CAAZ) workers.

Sources to Zimmorning Post say that workers wanted to brief the Minister of their grievances which include incapacitation to execute their duties and responsibilities. Speaking to Zimmorning Post, the sources said:

Minister of Transport through his permanent secretary is refusing to address CAAZ employees. The issues that are supposed to be addressed  are employees’ incapacitation, absebce of CAAZ board for a long period and employees welfare.

CAAZ management is saying that the Ministry has the answers.

CAAZ management is said to have told workers that their long-standing grievances including remuneration can only be addressed by the ministry.

Workers saying that their working conditions are not conducive. They also say that the obsolete equipment they are using endangers the lives of the flying public.

The also told Zim Morning Post that there is always consistent failure and malfunction of the communication and surveillance system and general neglect of the operational environment.
