EcoCash Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Natallie Jabangwe, has said that Ecocash Bureau de change will offer competitive rates to ease foreign currency dealings pressure for its clients.
Jabangwe was speaking at the launch of the new innovation after being granted the bureau de change licence.
She revealed that the platform which is known as “the smart change money” is one of the world’s first mobile bureaus and is said to be the largest on the continent by coverage. Mrs Jabangwe said:
A lot of our customers were saying to us we’re sick and tired of the premiums that we’re finding on the market and now that we have an interbank rate but when we want to change money on the black market it’s really costing us.
The platform which is offering an opening lucrative exchange rate at 10.8 will allow clients to convert funds in their FCA to RTGS.
Considering that the government has outlawed the use of all foreign currencies on domestic transactions, the platform becomes a panacea to the struggle of converting the funds for clients convenience.
Equity Axis reports that the service also offers other benefits including Real-Time Exchange to EcoCash ZW$ wallet, transfer forex from bank to wallet 24/7, safety and security, no high premiums linked to interbank and conveniently change money 24/7.
Zimbabwe is experiencing a huge cash deficit for since over two years ago.
