Chitembwe To Get $ 20 000/Month, $3 500 Winning Bonus & Borrowdale Stand - Report

Harare City F.C reportedly offered former Caps United coach Lloyd Chitembwe a deal which he could not resist.

A Zim Morning Post report claims that Chitembwe was offered a monthly salary of ZWL$20 000 after-tax, at least 200 litres of fuel per week, translating to 800 litres a month, as well as a generous winning bonus of ZWL$3 500 a match.

Chitembwe was also offered a residential stand in Harare’s affluent suburb of Borrowdale, according to the report.

As part of the deal, Harare City will also pay Chitembwe’s children school fees as well as his immediate accommodation.

Chitembwe becomes by far the highest-paid coach on the local football scene. An unnamed official told the publication:

It was a kind of offer in which if you refuse you will have marital problems at home.

Remember Harare City have for a long time been trying and failing to get Chitembwe.

Plus their position on the log has also left them desperate. In as much as he loved CAPS United but sometimes you have to look out for the interests of your family.

The club allowed him to go because they could not match Harare City’s offer.

Nelson Matongorere left Caps United to join Chitembwe at the Sunshine Boys. He will get a monthly salary of ZWL$8 000, far much higher than what he received at Makepekepe.
