Moses Chunga Applies For CAF A Licence Exemption - Report

Dynamos legend and 2009 PSL title-winning coach with Gunners FC, Moses Chunga has reportedly applied for a CAF A license exemption.

Chunga was being considered for the role of the head coach by Premier League side TelOne F.C. However, the club was considering looking elsewhere as ZIFA rules do not permit a non-holder of the licence to coach a premier league club.

TelOne club president, Lloyd Mtetwa confirmed to The Herald on Monday that Chunga had been shortlisted for the job. He said:

He was among the candidates we were considering for the head coach post.

We had not given him the job but, as part of our due diligence and screening process, we checked with ZIFA, particularly issues around the club licensing.

And, it is during that process that we learnt that he has no CAF A or an exemption from ZIFA.

When contacted for comment, ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela said that Chunga should apply for an exemption to the Technical Development Committee.
