Animal Rights Activists Focusing On Saving Animals At The Expense Of People's Lives - ZimParks

The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) has said that 15 people were killed by wild animals in the first half of 2019.

Zimparks was commenting on the emphasis by animal rights activists to protect animals, where sometimes people are also killed by the animals.

According to a ZBC report, ZimParks referred to efforts by animal activists to campaign against apparent hunting of male lions in Zimbabwe, as a smear campaign.

The campaign referred to has happened as the 18th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES CoP18) commences. The conference is being held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 17-28 August 2019.
