Police Assault Zim Morning Post Journalist While Filming Protests
The Zimbabwe Republic Police on Friday assaulted a journalist with online publication Zimbabwe Morning Post, Talkmore Fani Mapfumo.
Mapfumo was assaulted while filming the police officers when they were dispersing protestors in the Central Business District (CBD).
Despite producing his accreditation card, the officers took turns to assault him with batons.
One police officer was reportedly heard yelling at the journalist, “…being a journalist will not spare you from beatings”
Mapfumo had no option but to abandon his duties and run for dear life.
