ZANU PF Youths: "Other Countries Are Learning From Zimbabwe On How To Fight Corruption"

ZANU PF Youth League in Matabeleland South has hailed President Mnangagwa’s anti-corruption drive saying that it was unprecedented in Zimbabwe and a whole lot more countries.

This was said by the party’s provincial Youth League chairman, Washington Nkomo, who confessed that the youths had the president’s back. Nkomo said:

We stand in support of His Excellency’s fight against corruption and indeed his efforts to rebuild this great nation. His commitment to fight corruption has resulted in the prosecution of high profile people recently, and so far a whole Minister was relieved of her duties on that account, a record that many countries are learning from.

Nkomo’s remarks come after Tourism Minister, Priscah Mupfumira, was arrested by the Zimbabwe Anri-Corruption Commission for several counts of corruption and criminal abuse of office.

Mupfumira has also been relieved of her duties as both government and Cabinet minister.

Critics are still sceptical of the development arguing that Mnangagwa was playing the “catch and release” mind game meant to trick the public into believing that the president was serious about fighting corruption.

They demand the conviction of the accused saying there was overwhelming evidence to prove that they were indeed corrupt.

Zimbabwe has been ranked amongst the countries that registered high corruption records globally. Corruption has been over the years been identified as one of the prominent factors that were bringing the economy on its knees.
