South African online publication, Soccer Laduma reports that Mamelodi Sundowns has tabled an R15-million offer to Kaizer Chiefs in a bid to re-sign Zimbabwean international, Khama Billiat.
This follows confirmation on Tuesday from Mamelodi Sundowns acting general manager, Yogesh Singh, that there were ongoing talks between the clubs over the possible transfer of Billiat before the transfer window slams shut on August 31.
Billiat left Sundowns last year as a free agent after running down his contract.
Chiefs are believed to have rejected an R27-million offer from Egyptian club Zamalek, partly because Billiat is not keen to leave South Africa.
If the proposed transfer happens at the reported offer, it would be the country’s record transfer fee from one Premier Soccer League club to another.
Billiat is also expected to receive a huge salary package.
