MDC vice-chairperson, advocate Job Sikhala, together with four other men is alleged to have assaulted a Chitungwiza motorist whose car had rammed into his durawall at his home in St Mary’s, Chitungwiza.
It is alleged that Sikhala instigated the assault of Lawrence Dhana whose Lexus S200 had banged onto Sikhala’s durawall.
The Zengeza West legislator reportedly joined the assault which left Dhana seeking medical attention.
Dhana has since reported the assault at St Mary’s Police Station whilst Sikhala has also reported Dhana for destroying his durawall.
The incident was confirmed by police national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi who said:
We are investigating a case in which a man called Lawrence Dhana was allegedly assaulted severely after he rammed and destroyed Job Sikhala’s durawall (sic) with his vehicle.
We are also investigating another scenario where Job Sikhala lodged a complaint against Dhana for destroying his durawall.
Sikhala has a pending issue at the courts in which he is being accused of intending to subvert a constitutional government.
The charges were raised against him after he remarked that the MDC would overthrow president Mnangagwa before 2023.
