Govt Pledges State Assisted Burial To Legendary Playwright Stephen Chifunyise
The government has pledged to assist with the burial of the late legendary playwright, Stephen Chifunyise.
Chifunyise is known for his remarkable work in the arts and film industry. Some of his living legacies include Chipawo which he co-founded in the 80s., a platform for developing young talent.
Some of Chipawo’s products are Danai Gurira, Chiwoniso Maraire and Chipo Chung.
Artists, friends and colleagues will gather to pay their last respects through performance, music and dance at a celebratory and send-off service at Theatre in the park starting at 3 pm this Thursday.
The body lies in state at his family home at 41 Edinburgh Road, Vainona this Thursday before burial set for this Friday at Greendale cemetery at 12:30 hours.
