BREAKING: Mnangagwa Fires Tourism Minister Priscah Mupfumira Over Corruption Allegations

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has with immediate effect relieved Tourism Minister, Priscah Mupfumira from both the office of Cabinet and Government Minister. The letter signed by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, cites Mupfumira’s inappropriate conduct as the reason why the president fired her. Mupfumira is currently in jail over several counts of corruption and criminal abuse of office which prejudiced NSSA of several millions of US dollars. Below is the letter which informed of Mupfumira’s removal from office.

RE: REMOVAL FROM OFFICE OF CABINET MINISTER AND GOVERNMENT MINISTER: PRISCAH MUPFUMIRA

Please be advised that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde E D Mnangagwa, has in terms of section 340, subsection (1), paragraph (f), as read with section 104, subsection (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe has removed you, Priscah Mupfumira from the office of Cabinet Minister and Minister of Government with immediate effect for conduct inappropriate for a Government Minister.
