Prosperity Preachers Censured For Impoverishing People
The Minister of Women Affairs, Community and Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Sithembiso Nyoni, on Monday, slammed some church leaders for extorting money from communities to enrich themselves.
She castigated church leaders who have become very rich whilst their congregants wallow in poverty.
Nyoni made the remarks while officially opening Wolanani Supermarket and Wolanani Manufacturing in Mbembesi, Matabeleland North. She said:
There are those churches which come to communities to wipe off money.
Many churches are created to make wealth for themselves and not for God and the people.

That is a fact. Some of the church leaders are filthy rich and have even contracted bodyguards; even their wives have bodyguards.
If you are a believer your bodyguard should be Jesus and angels. But some of these churches, their leaders are there to enrich themselves.
Nyoni commended the Apostolic Faith and Action Church who sponsored the community members to run the supermarket and the manufacturing centre.
Apostolic Faith and Action Church leader, Lovemore Mytida said that his church was imparting skills to women and youths to enable them to live a better life.
