Why Should MDC Legislators Receive Cars Signed For By Mnangagwa They Don't Recognise? - ZANU PF MP

Buhera South MP, Joseph Chinotimba, has said that he is puzzled by the behaviour of MDC MPs who do not want to recognise president Emmerson Mnangagwa as the country’s president but would want benefits associated with him.

Chinotimba’s remarks were a direct response to the arrival of MDC MPs for the presentation of the 2019 Mid-Year Budget Review Statement and Supplementary Budget by Finance Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube on Thursday. Chinotimba said:

Currently, we were just talking about our cars. That is the debate and the noise about cars comes from the left, clamouring for the cars but when the president is coming, they do not want to come, yet they expect the president to sign so that their cars can be procured. We cannot run away when the president is coming.  So, they should not be entitled to benefits.

The speaker of Parliament, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, responded saying that the MDC MPs were not going to receive their allowances of the day.

He also said that Mnangagwa had been recognised everywhere under the sun, therefore, the behaviour of MDC members was unwarranted and unconstitutional.
