FULL TEXT: Rural Teachers Claim Members Blacklisted By The State

The Central Intelligence Organisation, CIO has prepared a list of ARTUZ leaders and distributed it to all school heads.

The school heads are under instructions to victimise and harass the teachers and even flush them out of the system for any slight breach of Public Service Regulations.

Our Research Department has accessed the targeted list from concerned headmasters who are in support of ARTUZ which is now the most popular Teachers’ Union in Zimbabwe.

Midlands has the longest list of targeted Cdes, with our senior provincial leaders dominating the list.

ARTUZ reaffirms the position that our membership is now on holiday beginning 22 July 2019. Our members are now busy with self-help projects to cushion themselves from the ever-deteriorating socioeconomic conditions.

We urge our members to exhibit exemplary professionalism to shame the desperate State.

The government of Zimbabwe is hereby advised to restore the value of our salaries to avert the pending collapse of our education system.

Victimisation of our members will not help resolve the labour dispute harming our education sector.
