3 Soldiers Arrested After Fatally Shooting Man On Prayer Mountain
Three Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) officers have been arrested over the fatal shooting of a man who was attending evening prayers on a mountain in Beitbridge.
Jevas Masvina (37), of Stauze suburb in Beitbridge, was with seven others from the Zion Christian Church going for night prayers at around 8 PM last Saturday.
The men were confronted by three armed soldiers who ordered them to lie down.
It is said that the men refused to obey the order but rather took up stones, whereupon the soldiers opened fire.
Masvina was struck in the ribcage. The soldiers fled from the scene after realising that they had killed a man but were later arrested after police officers were called in.
