MDC-T Will Not Contest Glen View South Seat To Honour Tsvangirai

The Thokozani Khupe-led MDC-T party has decided against fielding a candidate in the Glen View South National Assembly by-lection.

According to the party’s vice president, Obert Gutu, the decision was made in honour of the late MDC founding president Morgan Tsvangirai.

Tsvangirai’s son, Vincent, is representing the MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa who succeeded the former trade union leader as party president.

Writing on social media, Gutu, who is an outspoken critic of the MDC Alliance, said:

Nomination Court for Glen View South by-election sat on Friday, July 26, 2019. MDC-T decided not to field a candidate because we found it unconscionable to field a candidate to contest against Vincent Tsvangirai, son of our late iconic leader, Dr.Morgan Tsvangirai… MHDSRIEP
