"Fire Mupfumira And Prove That You're Sincere", Political Analysts Challenge ED
Calls have been made for President Emmerson Mnangagwa to fire Tourism Minister Prisca Mupfumira if she does not resign.
The 68-year-old former Public Service Minister was arrested on Thursday morning by officers from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC).
She is facing nine counts of corruption involving over $100 million.
University of Zimbabwe political science lecturer, Eldred Masunungure said that Mupfumira should resign on her own volition rather than wait to be sacked.

The best practice is that, whilst the legal route is going on, the minister (Mupfumira) must step down to allow due process to take its course.
In other democratic countries, she should have resigned already as it’s improper for her to continue. She is already contaminated and needs to step aside.
The position she holds is very powerful and chances are that she can deploy that power to defeat the course of justice.
Conscience must be her master and pave way for investigations to flow.
Another political commentator, Rashweat Mukundu told the Daily News that dismissing Mupfumira would show that President Mnangagwa is serious about fighting corruption. He said:
The spotlight at the moment is on two people: Mupfumira — who was arrested for alleged corruption — and her principal Mnangagwa.
Without getting into the legal issues of her case, the fact that she has been arrested brings the name of the government into question. She should hand over her resignation.
If she fails to do so, then the appointing principal has to force her into resigning or fire her. That way, people will view Mnangagwa as someone serious about dealing with corruption.
