MDC deputy chairperson, Job Sikhala, has claimed that unknown assailants tempered with his car. Sikhala claims that this was an attempt at his life by those who are opposed to his fight against oppression.
Sikhala was recently charged with subverting a constitutional government after he remarked at an MDC rally in Bikita recently that his party would overthrow president Mnangagwa before 2023.
The incident happens after a spate of mysterious accidents which have claimed lives or injured members of the opposition party and or government critics. Speaking to the Daily News on the incident, angry Sikhala said:
They want to kill me, and they are following me everywhere. But I am not scared. My vehicle had its two brand new tyres, one on the back left side and the other one the right front, stabbed by a knife.
The back tyre took about two kilometres to go flat and I had to buy another brand new one straight away, only for the vehicle to pull heavily to the right after five kilometres. Clear knife stabs were so glaring on the two tyres.
Whoever did it is a coward. The authors of cowardice shall reap their results, this I swear. My God and my ancestors havadhakwe (they will not forsake me).
The people’s mission to witness their freedom will never be stopped or terminated by the wickedness of the men of flesh. Such wicked antics will never scare some of us.
Police spokesperson, Paul Nyathi however, said authorities were not aware of the incident.
