FC Platinum Targets CAF Champions Group Stage
FC Platinum club officials will not put any pressure on coach Norman Mapeza and the players ahead of the start of the 2019/20 Total Caf Champions League.
The club stated that the primary target is to reach the group stages of the competition. In an interview with NewsDay Sport, club chairman Evans Mtombeni said:
We are not putting pressure on our team since we will be balancing between the local Premier Soccer League and the Champions League.
FeedbackWe are ready and the primary target is to reach the group stage and see if we can proceed thereafter. If we achieve that then we will be happy, but we are in a catch 22 situation in terms of players because we have several departures at the team.
The current Zimbabwean champions will face Malawi’s Nyasa Bullets in the preliminary stage. Victory in the two-legged encounter will guarantee a date against either Simba FC of Tanzania or Uniao Desportiva do Songo of Mozambique in the preliminary stage two. The winner will then play in the group stages.
