Mighty Warriors Expected In Camp Today Ahead Of COSAFA Women's Championship

Zimbabwe senior women soccer team, Mighty Warriors are expected to begin camping today in preparation of the upcoming Cosafa Women’s Championship to be held in Port Elizabeth from July 31 to 11 August.

The Mighty Warriors have previously performed well in regional games. They won the Southern African championship in 2011 and also qualified for the Olympic Games football tournament in Brazil in 2016.

They were also runners-up on home soil in the 2017 COSAFA Women’s Championship and have been very competitive in every competition.

In 2018, Zimbabwe failed to make it out of their pool despite two wins over Eswatini (3-0) and Namibia (1-0). A 2-1 defeat at the hands of Uganda sealed their fate.

The Mighty Warriors’ best finish at the African Women’s Championships was fourth in 2000.
