Bulawayo City Council Town Clerk, Mr Christopher Dube, has been suspended for allegedly blocking councillors’ ‘intrusive’ activities and ‘overstepping their boundaries’ in the running of council affairs.
He was suspended by Bulawayo Acting Mayor Tinashe Kambarami, a day before a meeting requested by councillors to discuss the conduct of senior managers at the local authority.
Cncllr Kambarami is reported to have handed to suspension letter to Mr Dube in person. The Chronicle reports that Kambarami was being accompanied by another person who was recording a video while they shoved the Town Clerk out of his office.
Meanwhile, Bulawayo Mayor, Solomon Mguni, is away on study leave.
