FULL TEXT: Sikhala To Appear In Court Tomorrow For Purported Overthrow Of A Constitutionally Elected Govt
The opposition MDC led by advocate Nelson Chamisa has revealed that party national Vice Chairperson, advocate Job Sikhala, will appear in court tomorrow.
The party said that Sikhala is being charged with contravening section 22(2)(a)iii of the Criminal Code which prohibits subverting a Constitutionally Elected Government.
Posting on Facebook, the party said:
Hon. Vice Chair Sikhala has been charged with contravening section 22(2)(a)iii of the Criminal Code… Subverting a Constitutionally Elected Government.A warned and cautioned statement has been recorded from him and he will appear in court tomorrow… Our legal affairs dept tried to get him to be released today but it was in vain as they seemed to be acting on instructions.
Sikhala becomes the 20th person to be charged with subversion since January this year.
