  1. Part of the reason why the cash rate and bond rate differ is that Econet agents are charging a premium of about 20% for cashing out. Econet is against this practice but the practice continues to affect exchange rates and and product prices. If you buy something with Ecocash, traders will charge you more than they charge when selling for cash, because the traders will be charged a premium of 20% by Ecocash agents when they try to cash out. These agents are also paid by Econet for cashing out, but they charge the public in order to double-dip.
