Photo-Shoot On Top Of Joshua Nkomo's Grave Attracts Public Wrath
Some members of the public have criticised a man who took a photo of himself and two soldiers on top of Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo’s grave. Many social media users, particularly Ndebele people, have described the incident as disrespect for the former vice president.
Despite others defending the man in the photo saying they would also not resist a chance to take a photo on the grave of an icon, others were adamant the act was a taboo in the Ndebele culture.
Speaking to Zenzele Ndebele, a Bulawayo-based journalist, the man wearing casual in the picture below reportedly said that he did not mean to disrespect Father Zimbabwe.
Zenzele tweeted:
I spoke to one of the guys in this pic. He says pic was taken 2yrs ago when he visited heroes acre & his intention was not to disrespect Joshua Nkomo or his family but take a pic at the grave of an icon. He says to those offended he is very sorry that was not his aim .#Asakhe

Responding to one comment on the tweet, one Nfanomkhulu said:
Maybe in your culture, such is acceptable but in others, it’s definitely not it’s a sign of total disrespect
Another user echoed above sentiments saying:

The remarks were also reiterated by another Twitter user who posted:
