Liverpool star, Sadio Mane, missed a penalty, got booked and scored a penalty in a Total 2019 AFCON match Senegal won 3-0 against Kenya on Monday night.
This was his second match after missing his side’s opening game of the tournament against Tanzania – a 2-0 win through suspension. His side suffered a disappointing defeat to Rihad Mahrez’s Algeria in Cairo when he returned to action.
Mane’s first-half penalty was saved by Patrick Matasi. He later picked up a booking on the hour mark as his frustrations got the better of him.
Ismaila Sarr gave Senegal the lead shortly after that Mane booking and then the Stade Rennais player doubled the lead when he raced clear and slotted past Matasi.
Mane later scored from the penalty spot after Philemon Otieno was sent off for a second bookable offence, to seal the victory.
The Lions of Teranga qualify from Group C in second place since Algeria beat Tanzania in another match. Senegal will face Uganda back in Cairo on Friday.
