100 Most Influential Africans Part 2: Top 40, One Zimbabwean On The List
The last time we published the bottom 60 of this list there was only 1 Zimbabwean at number 50, Danai Gurira. This time The Africa Report has concluded the list and its chilling to note that only 2 Zimbos appear on this list. If I was statistically treating this data as ratio data I would say, 1 Zimbo per 1 billion Africans is listed as one of the most influential 100 Africans.
Anywhere let’s dig in and see what we can find.
31 to 40
The list is dominated by West Africans who may be strangers to Southern Africans like us. However, South Africa’s Diana Ramos a former ABSA Bank CEO comes in at number 32.
21 to 30
Mo Ibraham a Sudanese Businessman and Philanthropist, Idris Elba a west African Holywood based renowned actor, Patrice Motsepe the mining mogul from South Africa appear on this list as number 21,24,28 respectively. The youthful Mo Salah almost concludes the list at number 29.
11 to 20
Our very own Telecoms giant and philanthropist Strive Masiyiwa sits on number 12 on this list. Though I may be a little bit disappointed because I was putting him in the top 5, it’s chilling to note that he outranked South African president Cyril Ramaphosa who sits on number 16. Wizkid a rapper from Nigeria is on number 18 on this list. This list right here left me doubting the top ten most influential Africans.

Top 10.
This is where I was expecting, Dangote(not surprised), Masiyiwa,( surprised), Motsepe, Isabel Dos Santos, Mufti Menk ( have you seen his shows?) and Cyril Ramaphosa. I was even expecting TB Joshua (he commands masses) to be on this list. However using their Criterial The African reports said these are the top 10 most influential Africans
10. Abiy Ahamed, The current Ethiopian President
9. Kumi Naidoo – SA – Amnesty International Secretary General
8. Enoch Adeboye – Nigeria – A religious leader
7. Davido – Nigeria – A musician
6. Tidjane Thiam – Cote d’Ivoire – Banker and Philanthropist
5. Trevor Noah – SA – Comedian
4. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie – Nigeria – Author
3. Koos Bekker – SA – Media Guru
2. Elon Musk – SA – Tech Giant
