WATCH: Stampede For Bread In Harare, Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe has an acute shortage of bread resulting from a depletion of wheat reserves in the country. More to that, the scarcity of foreign currency is making it difficult for the country to import enough wheat. A few bakeries that are still baking insufficient bread are reportedly diverting it into the parallel marketing where they sell it at outrageous prices. Reports suggest that some shops have made it a policy that one customer gets one. Customers also have to wake up early for them to buy as it is delivered in very limited quantities.
